In this course, the focus is on the building blocks to consolidate, distribute and protect fiber cables and components in-building — in a head-end, a central office, a communications room, in a data center or a commercial office.

What is Covered in This Course

  • FieldShield & Clearview Cassette

    Course Overview

The Clearview® Blue Cassette and xPAK are the central building blocks of every component in the FieldSmart® product portfolio. Clearview Black incorporates the same flexibility and scalability of Clearview Blue in a 50% smaller footprint.

In this section, we will spend a significant amount of time to teach and explain the benefits of Clearfield’s modular and scalable design philosophy built around the craft-friendly Clearview Cassette to help you better understand why we do what we do.

The FieldShield® Optical Fiber Protection System is a turn-key package to take fiber through the fields and streets to the home or business, up the tower to the antenna or throughout the riser to the data center or desk.

The FieldShield training course is designed to teach and explain the different types of microducts offered by Clearfield, as well as their applications, placement methods, and installation best practices.

    Objectives
    • Assemble and configure the six components of a Clearview Cassette
    • Splice loose tube and ribbon fiber into the Clearview Cassettes and xPAKs following Clearfield’s Best Practice Procedures
    • Be able to reroute fiber to switch cable exit “Redirect S”
    • Utilize the 144 Ribbon Breakout Kit and High Fiber Ribbon Breakout Box
    • Explain the benefits of using FieldShield Optical Fiber Protection to reduce installation costs and improve long term network reliability
    • Understand the three components of the Optical Fiber Protection System

  • Frames & Panels

    Course Overview

The flexibility in design and configuration of the Clearview® Cassette is implemented into all of the FieldSmart® products. Clearfield extends this flexibility and scalability to the FieldSmart FxHD System and FxDS Frame Kit. Like a system of building blocks, individual components of each system are configured to the environment in which they are placed for consolidation, distribution, and protection.

In this course, you will learn how to assemble a complete frame kit from opening the box to aligning the front doors on the frame. We will teach you about our entire product lines of panels, protection options, and integrated optical component solutions. Be prepared to learn how to land cable, route and store buffer tube or ribbon, route jumpers and install splitter modules into these easy to configure, craft-friendly panels.

This section will also include In-Building Access training coving Enterprise, Business Class and MDU solutions by delivering fiber through Indoor Wall Mount Panels.
