Registration now open for interactive event featuring leading contractors, engineers making fiber a reality; Clearfield to host forum at ISE Expo 2017
MINNEAPOLIS – July 19, 2017 – Clearfield, Inc. (NASDAQ:CLFD), the specialist in fiber management for communication service providers, today announced registration is open for a Contractors’ Fiber Forum, sponsored by Clearfield and hosted at the gathering place for the communications and fiber industry, ISE Expo 2017. Leading contractors, engineers and consultants will convene at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, September 12, at 3 p.m., to examine the varied approaches to fiber installation, navigate challenges that hamper efficiency, and share best practices to make fiber a reality in the communities they serve.
Outside Plant (OSP) contracting is as multifaceted as the various terrains in which they work. From overseeing the deployment and enhancement of telecommunications equipment, to developing designs, specifications, estimates, and reports to ensure that new installations are on time and within budget. Equipment manufacturers can also play a critical role in making it easier for contractors to get involved and be successful. In the Contractors’ Fiber Forum, Clearfield will facilitate bringing together these perspectives in an interactive discussion about the pain points the industry is experiencing, the deployment strategies that do and do not work, and the transformations needed in terms of infrastructure, services, and in some cases, behavior that will create more opportunities.
Clearfield Director of Application Engineering, Brian Schrand, will moderate a distinguished panel, including:
- Gordon Caverly, Regional Vice President, Midstate Consultants
- Tom Gorman, Construction Supervisor, CenturyLink
- Jim Peterson, Director of Business Development, Electricom, LLC
- Ron Buske, Award-Winning CenturyLink Service Technician (Ret.)
“Municipalities and communications providers of all sizes are rapidly moving forward with plans to expand fiber access. With 5G on the horizon, the fiber opportunities are expected to skyrocket even higher,” said Clearfield Chief Marketing Officer, Kevin Morgan. “Turning up fiber services can take several possible approaches, but savvy providers are using the most innovative network installation and construction techniques clearing the way for quicker time to revenue. The Contractors’ Fiber Forum will review key insights that may create new deployment opportunities to re-engage in this exciting time of industry transformation.”
