Deploying Clearfield at every distribution point between the central office and the home eases deployment costs and challenges
MINNEAPOLIS (May 2, 2013) – Clearfield, Inc. (NASDAQ:CLFD), the specialist in fiber management and connectivity platforms for communications providers, today announced that Logic, a broadband service provider looking to bring fiber to every home and business in the Cayman Islands, has standardized on Clearfield for its fiber connectivity, distribution, and protection requirements. Logic is deploying the FieldSmart fiber management platform of panels and cabinets and FieldShield microduct and pushable fiber for connectivity directly into the home.
Logic’s new fiber optic network will deliver integrated broadband access and voice services to its customers. Logic has designed its entire network architecture for scalability, allowing it to easily add new services. The result is a feature-rich network, flexible enough to grow and develop as customer needs for new solutions are uncovered.
“The people and businesses of our Cayman communities expect superior communication capabilities,” David Corbin technical manager for Logic explains. “We chose Clearfield because their products are designed to make deployment and operation efficient. We have been able to stay ahead of the deployment schedule because of their ease of product as well as Clearfield’s fast delivery times.”
Recently, Logic launched LogicTV. Features include HD channels, Picture-in-Picture channel preview, TotalHome DVR, and Video On Demand. “LogicTV will provide a unique interactive experience with an advanced technology, very different from the standard cable or satellite options commonly used today,” continued Corbin. “LogicTV channels are transmitted over high speed fiber optics cables. Our technological requirements demanded only the highest performing capital equipment. Clearfield is the foundation of that capability.”
“It is a pleasure to have the Clearfield sales and engineering staff working alongside the employees of Logic,” said Cheri Beranek, president and CEO of Clearfield. “Our cultures are very similar – both of our companies are dedicated to customer service and the delivery of quality solutions.”
