We’ve taken Clearfield’s fiber installation expertise in the field and scaled it up via the release of Clearfield products on the BILT® mobile app, an evolving catalog of 3D interactive instructions for select Clearfield products - available at the installer’s fingertips. The BILT app provides installers an easy way to streamline the installation process, helping to reduce installation errors, time, and field issues by ensuring fiber technicians have access to the information they need right at their fingertips with no internet connection needed.
Clearfield decided to leverage the BILT app in response to Clearfield customer input. The BILT app is a training tool and reference that technicians can interact with to get step-by-step instructions on tasks in the field, without having to read a manual on a small device. New hires of all ages can learn how to install Clearfield products correctly, translating to better efficiencies as service providers drive to move from homes passed to homes connected.
Everyone wants to move faster. Fiber technicians are expected to complete up to four installations a day, a pace that’s likely to increase as NTIA BEAD funding becomes available in the second half of this year. The BILT app delivers detailed visual guidance for Clearfield products that enable installers to be more productive and efficient. Customers can initially use the BILT app to install Clearfield’s YOURx® and SeeChange® terminals, Clearview® Cassettes, PON Cabinets, and Home Deployment Kits with plans to ultimately integrate the remaining product lines.
With today’s workforce more tech-savvy and digitally oriented, creating an install tool that aligns with the way they want to learn and process information makes perfect sense.
